Flight of the Holy Family fleeing to Egypt.
Important Message.
If you missed Father's homily on February 16th about the mass deportation of immigrants, please read it here. It has an important message about what is happening in the United States with the immigrants and the mass deportations taking place.
Pope Francis recently sent a strongly worded letter to the Catholic bishops of the United States in which he denounced the mass deportation of migrants…
"The journey from slavery to freedom that the People of Israel traveled, as narrated in the Book of Exodus, invites us to look at the reality of our time, so clearly marked by the phenomenon of migration, as a decisive moment in history to reaffirm not only our faith in a God who is always close, incarnate, migrant and refugee, but also the infinite and transcendent dignity of every human person." [1]
The letter also stated that the Pope disagrees with identifying the illegal status of migrants with criminality, and called on the bishops to “walk together” and defend the human dignity of the migrants in their country.
Please remember that the surest way that others will know we are Christians is by our love.

Hollywood vs. Faith - The Struggle to live Faithfully in the Media Age
Everyone is hotly debating the influence of the media today…But few people are speaking a language that captures the attention of youth and adults, sheds new light—and ignites laughter. TV actor Frank Runyeon helps his audience see “the man behind the curtain,” telling fun stories from a lifetime in the entertainment industry. He may change the way you see the media forever."

Acclaimed by critics, scholars and over 1,400 Catholic parishes across America.
“The adults, not to mention the children, were enthralled…”
—Our Lady of the Assumption, Fairfield, CT
“Spellbinding, riveting…conversional…Excellent!
—The Most Rev. Larry J. Kulick, . Bishop of Greensburg, PA

A wonderful mission. … We had the highest attendance in years!”
—St. Peter the Apostle, Parsippany, NJ
As part of the Jubilee Year, Our Lady of Peace will be hosting Frank Runyeon, a nationally acclaimed actor, to present “HOLLYWOOD vs. FAITH - the struggle to live faithfully in the media age”. Notably, PEOPLE MAGAZINE has called his performances "Remarkable".
Who is Frank Runyeon?
He is a veteran of over 1,000 television shows, most notably opposite Meg Ryan on As the World Turns, and on the Emmy Award-winning Santa Barbara. He also starred in the film Sudden Death and appeared in recurring roles on LA LAW, Falcon Crest, General Hospital, All My Children and Melrose Place. In 2016, he was nominated for a Daytime EMMY for his performance on The Young and the Restless.
But Runyeon is also a man of faith, with impressive academic credentials. He graduated from Princeton (where he wrote his thesis on the mass media), continued his studies at Yale, and earned his Masters of Arts, with honors, from General Theological Seminary. In recent years, he has taken a sabbatical from Hollywood to translate Biblical texts and perform them (to rave reviews) for hundreds of thousands of people in virtually every state in America. Runyeon says that people continually asked him about his experiences in Hollywood, while he was touring his plays. Slowly his observations and stories grew into a one-man performance for this trending topic.
Mr. Runyeon's presentation will be held on Saturday, March 8 at 7pm sharing his first hand experience in Hollywood and the media's allure and pitfalls. His website states, "Everyone is hotly debating the influence of the media today…But few people are speaking a language that captures the attention of youth and adults, sheds new light—and ignites laughter. Frank helps his audience see “the man behind the curtain,” telling fun stories from a lifetime in the entertainment industry. He may change the way you (and your kids) see the media forever."
Please join us for this amazing performance on
Saturday, March 8th at 7pm.

The theme for Jubilee 2025 is “Pilgrims of Hope,” and it will be a year of hope for a world suffering the impacts of war, the ongoing effects of COVID-19 pandemic, and the climate crisis. Worldwide events will take place this year including pilgrimages to Rome.
Locally, Our Lady of Peace, along with the Diocese of Springfield, will have a full calendar of events to celebrate this Jubilee and be the hope and change our community needs!
The Jubilee will last until January 6, 2026.
