Welcome to Our Lady of Peace.
Fr. Paul Mariani
winds up his trip around-the-World!
MAY 25, 2025, TO SEPTEMBER 10, 2025
We have reached the end of the line for Father Paul’s tour of the world! He flew into San Francisco on August 24 and then returned to his home base, Santa Clara University in California. He will reconnect with his community there for about a week or more and then fly to Boston to complete the “round trip” ticket as he had to leave from Boston and come back to Boston. He arrives in Boston on September 9 for a visit home.
Thank you Fr. Paul and mom Eileen for sharing these updates with us! We look forward to seeing him back in town soon!
Do you like to Cook?
We are in need of a few more people to make a casserole type dish once a month for our Community Meals Dinner on a Monday evening. For more information call the Parish Office and leave a message for Cathy. Thank you!

For the blessing of the Farren Memorial.
Bishop Byrne will be the main celebrant, and we hope all who were part of the Farren story will attend: those who were born there, those cared for, those who worked there, Sisters of Providence, nurses, Candy Stripers (volunteers), the Turners Falls Historic Commission, and those who contributed to the cost of the Memorial.
This will be a joyful celebration of an important part of the

Flight of the Holy Family fleeing to Egypt.
Important Message.
If you missed Father's homily on February 16th about the mass deportation of immigrants, please read it here. It has an important message about what is happening in the United States with the immigrants and the mass deportations taking place.
Pope Francis recently sent a strongly worded letter to the Catholic bishops of the United States in which he denounced the mass deportation of migrants…
"The journey from slavery to freedom that the People of Israel traveled, as narrated in the Book of Exodus, invites us to look at the reality of our time, so clearly marked by the phenomenon of migration, as a decisive moment in history to reaffirm not only our faith in a God who is always close, incarnate, migrant and refugee, but also the infinite and transcendent dignity of every human person." [1]
The letter also stated that the Pope disagrees with identifying the illegal status of migrants with criminality, and called on the bishops to “walk together” and defend the human dignity of the migrants in their country.
Please remember that the surest way that others will know we are Christians is by our love.
2025 - It's a Jubilee Year!
The Holy Father has announced 2025 as a Jubilee Year, a sacred time of renewal, reflection, and grace which happens every 25 years.
The theme for Jubilee 2025 is “Pilgrims of Hope,” and it will be a year of hope for a world suffering the impacts of war, the ongoing effects of COVID-19 pandemic, and the climate crisis. Worldwide events will take place this year including pilgrimages to Rome.
Locally, Our Lady of Peace, along with the Diocese of Springfield, will have a full calendar of events to celebrate this Jubilee and be the hope and change our community needs!
The Jubilee will last until January 6, 2026.
