Ministry: Justice & Peace

Justice & Peace Committee-

     Serving our Neighbors in Need.

"No peace without justice, no justicewithout forgiveness. - John Paul II

Serving our Community with Faith, Friendship & Food.

The Justice and Peace Committee responds to the needs of members of our community through the weekly Community Meals Program, ongoing support of those who need emergency assistance for food, rent and utilities, and parish-supported efforts to meet both on-going and seasonal needs.

The Children’s Summer Lunch Program brought together many volunteers to prepare and distribute lunches to school-age children when the community program ended. An annual Backpack drive seeks to aid children in area schools with backpacks and school supplies. An ongoing collection of toiletries provides soap, deodorant, toothpaste and other necessities. Women who run out of diapers, especially in sizes 4, 5 and 6, can receive these through the generosity of parishioners.

A new project of the Justice and Peace Committee, which will include the children and youth in our religious education program is the collection of a 1/4 Mile of Quarters to help neighbors with their laundry needs. $10 gift cards will be used at a local laundromat, as well as laundry detergent.

A 1/4 Mile of Quarters lined up edge to edge, totals $990! But if we were to raise a Mile of Quarters, lined up edge to edge, that totals $3,960.00. What a difference that will make!
